Welcome Message from Dr. Graddick

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Felton Laboratory Charter School! I am Dr. Jean Graddick, and it is both a privilege and an honor to continue serving as your Director. With more than 28 years of experience in education, I remain deeply committed to fostering a school community built on excellence, collaboration, innovation, and student success.
At Felton Laboratory Charter School, we are proud to provide a rigorous, engaging, and student-centered learning environment grounded in our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) framework. Our mission is to inspire curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking while empowering students to become lifelong learners, problem-solvers, and innovators who are prepared for college, career, and life.
As we begin this new academic year, we will continue to build upon our strong foundation with an intentional focus on:
- Establishing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child feels seen, valued, respected, and empowered.
- Strengthening partnerships among families, staff, and the broader community to support student growth and achievement.
- Supporting teacher leadership and professional learning to ensure instructional excellence in every classroom.
Maintaining high academic expectations through a dynamic, STEAM-integrated curriculum that challenges, engages, and inspires every learner. - Continuing our school-wide commitment to being “Felton Strong,” leading with purpose and consistently reflecting on our guiding question: “How are the children?”
We recognize that the strength of our school is rooted in meaningful relationships, shared responsibility, and a collective vision for excellence. Through collaboration, dedication, and a relentless focus on student success, we will continue to advance academic achievement, nurture leadership, and create exceptional learning experiences for every member of the Felton community.
I encourage you to stay connected, participate in school events, and partner with us throughout the year. Together, we can make the 2026–2027 school year a remarkable and rewarding chapter in the continued success of Felton Laboratory Charter School. I look forward to working alongside each of you and celebrating the growth, accomplishments, and impact of our students and staff.
With gratitude and commitment,
Dr. Jean Graddick
